Status of Medical Aid in Dying

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the Minnesota End-of-Life Options Act (House File 2998 and Senate File 3215) was officially introduced.

Just two days later, on Thursday, April 3, Gina Schneider, Minnesota Campaign & Advocacy Manager, joined Rep. Mike Freiberg, the bill’s chief author, along with Tom Ablin, a Minnesotan living with ALS and advocate for medical aid in dying, and Becki Sinks, who tragically lost her husband to suicide during his terminal illness, to speak before lawmakers, advocates, and members of the media.

Together, they made a powerful and heartfelt case for passing the Minnesota End-of-Life Options Act—underscoring the urgent need for compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life choices in our state.
